Pinning Hopes On The X Factor

Hannah Bradbeer is pinning all her hopes on The X Factor.
22 year-old Hannah came along to the London auditions and received a three yes pass from the judges into the next round on the strength of her version of Duffy's Mercy.

The Kent girl was delighted when Simon proclaimed, "I love this girl. I do. I really, really like you. I think you are terrific".

But Hannah was slightly less that impressed with Dannii's verdict. She told us, "Dannii Minogue killed my vibe by saying I needed to work on my image. Which upset me a bit because I always thought I was a pretty snappy dresser!"

Nevertheless, it's through to the next round for the office worker - which is probably just as well after she slated her current job in an onscreen interview!

She told Dermot, "I do filing. I answer the phone. It's not what I want to do at all". This must've come as a shock to the folks at the investment consultancy in Mayfair where she works.

Says Hannah, "I sing all the time. It's my everything. As well as my main job, I do funky house vocals for a night called Red Velvet which is occasionally held at the O2. .It's not full time, it's not enough. You get just a taster of what it's like to sing on a stage, and wicked to be in front of all those people. Then it's back to reality. You have a pinch of such a buzz and then nothing again".

Hannah's not one to count her chickens, however, and is keeping pretty low key about her X Factor adventure.

She mentioned, "Nobody knows I'm going on The X Factor. My mum and dad know, and my friend knows. But that's it. I don't see the point in saying anything to anyone until we know more".

But at least Hannah was able to share her excitement with her parents. Or was she?

She smiled. "My mum and dad aren't really the sort of people to gush about things. I did ring my mum to tell her I got through, and Dermot came on the phone. After they'd spoken, I said, 'Mum! That was Dermot off the telly and Radio 2'".

"And she said, 'Oh, that's nice. Have you had enough to eat?'"

They like to keep my feet on the ground, my parents. But they are behind me; they want me to get what I want".
