Cheryl Cole Winning Mentor?

It looks Cheryl Cole could be the winning mentor this year.
The Girls Aloud singer has been given the 14-24 girls category on the X Factor - and sources say she has so much talent in her category that the other judges are scared she will make them look stupid. 22-year-old Hannah Bradbeer impressed everyone with her version of Duffy's Mercy and Cheryl must be hoping that she can perform on the big X Factor stage. She is hot favourite to follow in the footsteps of Leon Jackson and win the series.

Hannah head of X Factor betting market

Hannah Bradbeer has moved to the head of X Factor betting market after wowing the judges with her rendition of Duffy’s ‘Mercy’. The judges were surprised by her performance and she now looks one of the front runners for the recording contract.

Betfair says....

Mike Norman of Betfair says: "...She walked into the room donning a lovely girly dress.... and a leather jacket. She admitted to absolutely hating her office job (make that ex-office job) and that this competition could help her move on. She then sang the Duffy hit "Mercy" which left the judges gawping in amazement. Simon's immediate comment of "Love this girl" is one that we are becoming accustomed to now, but his later revelation that Hannah is "Incredible, one to watch, trust me" added more weight to the belief that this outspoken wild child can go a long way this year".

Pinning Hopes On The X Factor

Hannah Bradbeer is pinning all her hopes on The X Factor.
22 year-old Hannah came along to the London auditions and received a three yes pass from the judges into the next round on the strength of her version of Duffy's Mercy.

The Kent girl was delighted when Simon proclaimed, "I love this girl. I do. I really, really like you. I think you are terrific".

But Hannah was slightly less that impressed with Dannii's verdict. She told us, "Dannii Minogue killed my vibe by saying I needed to work on my image. Which upset me a bit because I always thought I was a pretty snappy dresser!"

Nevertheless, it's through to the next round for the office worker - which is probably just as well after she slated her current job in an onscreen interview!

She told Dermot, "I do filing. I answer the phone. It's not what I want to do at all". This must've come as a shock to the folks at the investment consultancy in Mayfair where she works.

Says Hannah, "I sing all the time. It's my everything. As well as my main job, I do funky house vocals for a night called Red Velvet which is occasionally held at the O2. .It's not full time, it's not enough. You get just a taster of what it's like to sing on a stage, and wicked to be in front of all those people. Then it's back to reality. You have a pinch of such a buzz and then nothing again".

Hannah's not one to count her chickens, however, and is keeping pretty low key about her X Factor adventure.

She mentioned, "Nobody knows I'm going on The X Factor. My mum and dad know, and my friend knows. But that's it. I don't see the point in saying anything to anyone until we know more".

But at least Hannah was able to share her excitement with her parents. Or was she?

She smiled. "My mum and dad aren't really the sort of people to gush about things. I did ring my mum to tell her I got through, and Dermot came on the phone. After they'd spoken, I said, 'Mum! That was Dermot off the telly and Radio 2'".

"And she said, 'Oh, that's nice. Have you had enough to eat?'"

They like to keep my feet on the ground, my parents. But they are behind me; they want me to get what I want".

Same Difference Gives Hannah Thumbs Up

It's been a busy week for Same Difference's Sarah and Sean Smith, but they still managed to take time out to reveal who they want to make it through to the next stage of X Factor. Sean was impressed by 22-year-old Hannah Bradbeer and hopes Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole will put her through to the live shows.

He wrote: "Hannah's got a beautiful face and a stunning voice and if she is styled on the live shows she could be a star - even a superstar! The song she chose, Mercy by Duffy is one of our favourites, but it's hard to sing; we were especially impressed when she delivered a great version". "There is no way Hannah will have to go back to the office she hates... but we hope her boss wasn't watching! Onwards and upwards, Hannah, Hehe!"

A True Winner

Well, the X-factor has certainly discovered a new star for us. Hannah is 22, she works for a Hedge Fund and after she sung for us for the X-factor judges Simon Cowell's tongue had to be rolled up and tucked back in his mouth. But if Hannah was to win the competition, what do you think she would sing as a Christmas number one? ...What would you like to hear this year - a cover, or an original song?

Chance Sisters Have Their Say

We are three sisters - Rebekah, Leah and Abigail - from Essex who auditioned for The X Factor in 2007 and made it through to the last 12 groups at boot camp. We know the entire behind the scenes vibes and we are not afraid to share them with you. Do you want to know more about us or see our audition? We are here to keep you updated on what we are up to and give you a weekly insight into The X Factor competition.

Tremendous: Hannah Bradbeer. Despite the awful hairstyle, her singing was amazing. Her song choice was excellent as her style was very much the same as Duffy. With her unusual voice and her great style (despite the hair) she deserved to get through. I hope we will be seeing her in the finials.
Do we agree with the Chance Sisters?

Looking Good

The discontented office worker effortlessly belted out Duffy's Mercy. She hasn't lost a partner or recovered from a drug addiction, but she has a mighty good voice and a great look.
The sly comments between the judges are just as entertaining, and a favourite exchange of the evening was between Louis and Cheryl.

Louis: "Singing wasn't great – but that never stopped girlbands making it before." Ouch!
Cheryl: "I thought you were the big band manager. I thought you knew it all!"
Louis, sarcastically: "You know about girlgroups."
Cheryl: "And you don't." Double ouch!

Knowing that Louis used to manage Girls Aloud - but don't anymore - you could almost taste the tension in the air. Bringing Cheryl Cole in as a judge has brought a more compassionate slant to the show. She makes good television but, as a talent show, it may have been more appropriate to bring in a record producer. Guy Chambers or Brian Higgins (the man behind many of Girls Aloud's hits) springs to mind.
